Showing Up Strong for Special Olympics Michigan
Every year, our Real Estate One Family of Companies team shows up in a big way to support Special Olympics Michigan, and this year’s Polar Plunges and Frozen 5K were no exception.
With 94 participants jumping in or walking alongside, we raised more than $68,000. That’s higher than last year and one of our strongest totals to date. We may have even set a new participation record, making this effort even more meaningful.
Behind every participant was an incredible support system. Hundreds of donors helped our teams reach their goals and expand our impact for athletes across the state. It truly was a company-wide effort.
Standout Contributions Across the Company
The Ann Arbor plunge led all events, raising more than $28,000 with 47 participants.
Laurie Buys was Ann Arbor’s top fundraiser, bringing in over $4,000.
Jon Zickert from our Beulah office raised almost $9,000.
We also recognize the late Jennifer Essary’s husband, Rodrigo Manriquez, their family, and the Smith Group, whose team of 17 raised over $8,000.
Honoring a Lasting Impact
This year held special meaning as we honored Jennifer Essary and her passion for Special Olympics Michigan. Her legacy continues to inspire our team, and her impact was felt throughout this year’s events.
